Well, as usual, I let an inordinate amount of time pass since my last post.
It’s been a busy few months.
We wrapped up construction of 1566 Sanchez in mid-March of this year and we’re pretty darned happy with how it turned out. The wide-plank engineered oak floors were finished with Tung Oil to seal out stains and they look amazing and the white interior carries light to every corner of the home.
Todd Adams of Ken Fulk Design led the way in designing the staging of the home and it came out absolutely gorgeous – we can’t thank them enough.

Gorgeous work! I just love what you’ve done with 1566 Sanchez.
What reclaimed wood floor di you end up using?

Sorry I never replied…somehow missed your note. We used an 8″ engineered unfinished white oak plank that we finished on site with Tung Oil. Gave a very authentic wood feel and look that you just can’t get with a typical wood floor that has a layer of plastic urethane over the top. The urethane is a better protectant, but the wood can end up looking too perfect – like laminate – and with no detectable grain. I love oil and wax-finished floors even if they require more maintenance. You just want to get down on them and touch them.
